Anyone have the new aziak vantage pan head yet? The weight and size looks great to me but I’m just curious about its performance; specifically how smooth it is and how well it locks down.

I am interested in this as well. Specifically how it compares to other ultralight pan heads like the Wiser Precision NightHawk or the Tricer-LP.

Not sure about performance but I definitely like that it has arca built into the base. I would be pretty jazzed if that was something that was adopted on all of these ultra light pan heads.

Anyone know what the weight limit is? Will it lock down with one of the big spotters like Kowa 99?

What did black ovis do? I thought they carried aziak products. I have a couple of their Bino clamps and they work pretty good.

Ordered a decent amount of product from aziak in the month or so before they went bankrupt and did not pay Aziak for the items. It’s pretty well hashed out on aziaks IG and in the general forum

Wait what? Wow, I’m late to the boat…..had no idea. Gonna miss the Crispi Kenai. Hope another company can pick them up.

I just got one, only used it for a few hours at this point with binos, really like it so far. I have not had any panhead for several years though, so all I can compare it to is my anvil 30, which I am locking the vantage into

Got mine the other day. Saved me over a pound off my previous head. It’s tiny but the movements are pretty smooth so far

It’s small enough and saved enough weight that now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t go to a lighter tripod also

Any more reviews on these?

@TheTone , are you still liking it?
Mostly yes; I wish all the adjustment knobs on it locked down tighter. The handle one would benefit from having a hex head cut into the center of it. I just packed it around for a week in the desert and about every other day the head would be somewhat loose from my tripod and I’d have to try cranking it tighter. Some of that could be on me. It’s a ton lighter than what I had previously and does just as good a job. It’s more than smooth enough for my panning use

For reference, what were you using previously?
