Just got mine in the mail this week. I breifly tested it out on my deck and am happy with my purchase so far. The tripod is well-built, very compact, and lightweight. Seems like it's a great value for the price point.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ball head for glassing but it is very affordable so I can live with it for a season before I upgrade to a nicer pan head. I do plan on trying to shoot with it this summer to see how that goes and will report back. If anyone has tried shooting off this setup already, I'd also be interested in hearing more.

Also interested in what others think....both glassing and shooting.

I've had one for about a year now, paired with Tricer LP pan head, and have been very impressed with it for glassing given its weight. Supports my Kowa 77 without issue. Packs compact and weight is amazing. Used it on two hunts. Removeable center column a nice feature as well.

Was finally able to shoot off of it the other week, using the tricer LP as well, in prone, elevated prone, and kneeling. Supports my 8# rifle with no issues. Was able to be on target at 300yds, however the wobble zone is noticeable and it is not as stable as I would prefer. I did an A/B comparison to an RRS, and as one would expect the RRS was more stable. I need to shoot with the Aziak more, but will most likely be purchasing an Ascend-14 for this coming season for shooting application.

Just a quick question about this aziak ball head. It can rotate horizontally, but that pivot takes a great deal of pressure on mine. I guess this is what separates it from a pan head? I just don't see why it shouldn't pan easily as well, or is mine too tight? It takes like 10-20 pounds of force, but is very smooth. I'm tripod ignorant...

There should be a set screw that loosens/ tightens so you can pan side to side…. If that’s what you’re referring to.

Yeah, i got thayt. it just seems strange that an ultralight head for ultralight tripods would tip the whole assembly over. No way can I pan with my nose like a pan head. Maybe mine is defective and it's not supposed to take a ton of force
