Longtime listener, first time poster. I spotted this scat in AZ Unit 22 around 5k ft elevation. Rolls are about 2.5 inches in diameter and have some fur in them. Is this bear scat? Mountain lion? Looks too fat for javelina. Was near water.
Bear probably. I don't think lions really eat acorns and whatnot.What left this?

This little guy wasn't afraid of humans or my 2 hounds. He turned and gave me the stink eye.Tough way to go. May he RIP.
I often think I can take a small black bear in combat, but I could be wrong.
