I drew a late archery Arizona tag. I have never been there hunting and not really sure what to expect weather wise.

I’m trying to figure out my sleep system. I have a Kifaru zero degree bag (I have used this in Montana as low as 5 below), a decent R value Sea to Summit pad. I’m not sure what tent to use. I have Durstin Xmid 1, a Seek Silvertip with stove jack and a Kifaru Sawtooth with stove jack. I have a kifaru stove.

Thus is a solo hunt.

Will I survive in the Durston or should I take one of the heated tents.

I will be flexible on whether I camp by the truck or spike out.

I will be northeast of Phoenix.

TIA for any advice.

It will be cold with potentially a good amount of snow so plan accordingly.
Most of the units that offer that Hunt are at higher elevation, so if there is minimal snow it will still be real cold. Also be mindful of killing a bull far off the trail in cold, snowy, steep conditions, solo. It will be a lot of work to get that animal out of there.

Good luck and Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Mighteywhitehunter.
So, from a weather standpoint I should basically treat it the same as the Montana mid-November rifle elk hunts that I have gone on a number of times.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum as well. I have read here for many years; I just don't post very often.

I think I'd lean towards the kifaru and stove. More space when it's cold to spread things out to dry is always a plus. Throw a cot in and your extra comfortable when staying close to your vehicle and covering lots of ground too.
