That pic from August looks to me like a different deer. It seems the rear fork on the deers right forks much lower and is deeper. Anyone else think that?

That was my initial reaction

Sunup was foggy so Iļø just still-hunted a few hours in it. Clear now asnd glassed best and oldest buck Iā€™ve seen yet. If he forked on his RG2, Iā€™d try to put him in my fry pan. Iļø got some long-distance video Iā€™ll try to post later. Heā€™s got a small herd of does and ainā€™t letting them go. Cold.

Robby when you see tracks where bucks are looking for does such as in your video do you find that a lot of that movement from mature bucks is at night at least in the open areas?

Here is the buck I saw this morning. This was at 10:00 am (I'm still on DST, I don't change till after the hunt or I can't remember when sun comes up and down) so two hours after sunrise; they'd been feeding in the quakies but came out on this little hillside for about 20 minutes before fading back into the cover. Sorry it's not really clear, he was about 800 yards out. If he'd have remembered to grow his RG2, I'd have tried for him. Older buck, could tell by his face, so at least one made it through the winter! Tomorrow is last day.

If there aren't many hunters, I see them in daylight hours- that's why the rut is a pretty special time to hunt. If there's lots of hunters, there aren't many big bucks so it can seem like they are only active at night, but I think they come out at the edges of light during the rut. They still stick pretty close to the cover, but if you hunt the fringes, you'll see them.
