I been once in 2017:
Opening morning I had them spot me at 300 yards but wanted to come down from that area so I ran over there and got my first one at 25 yards (they were spooking from road hunters - herd buck was right next to me looking back over his shoulder - could see his eye lashes). Later in the day I shot another one at 350 yards. Only had doe tags - had 2 additional bucks within 200 mid-morning and mid-day.
Next day I had 150, and 75 yard shot opps on bucks I couldn't shoot. Also had a bedded buck in a spot where a stalk and 100 yard shot would have been possible.
Just couldn't get a 3rd doe - lots of bucks around tho.
It really is location specific - some places look like mowed hills and golf courses - you aren't gonna get as close under those circumstances. Give some brush, tall grasses, gullies, etc. and you'll be surprised how close you can get.
Know your limits and don't take shots you aren't 100% sure you can make.
