Day 1 round 1 of shooting after resetting draw length and weight and installing new drop away and sights. First real shooting of a compound in over twenty years. Top right at a weird angle was just a shot into the target at a few yeards to make sure things werent going to explode after putting the bow back together. Rest was a group. Shot about thirty more after this, forgot how much I enjoy it. Group was from about twenty yards. I hope to shoot 3 times a week as I can't do it at my apartment and have to go a family members backyard nearby.

Think you forgot the picture?

Got my sight tape set and shot my 1st group at 100 today. Shot 6 arrows....assuming the other 2 are in the bale beside where the target was and penetrated all the way in. Hoping to find them when they put the bale out for the horses.

Nice start and welcome back to compounds. They're a heckuva a lot of fun.

Heres something that might help Honk and Dylan........Can you call the shot?

So when you shoot and arrow....does your form and follow through allow you to tell where that arrow is going....for example....you drifted just a hair right?

Follow through is a critical step in extreme accuracy. Calling the shot is a big help in hunting scenarios. Some guys go blank on the shot- not good reinforcing bad habits.

Calling the shot is essentially getting an exact feel of your form and mental picture of where the pin was at the time of the shot.

This will also help you self diagnose form flaws- flinching, punching, peeking, etc. Its a good tool for target and hunting.

...

Super dooper advice. At the range I shot at this winter, the best shooter there (Vegas guy) said the exact same thing. He said he always knows where that arrows gonna hit even before it gets there. I started really paying attention to mine and he's right. Like you say, it really helps in diagnosing your form
