With harvest right around the corner, i'll have a few hundred hours to kill in the tractor/semi and was wondering what some of you guys like to podcast and if you have any favorite books i could find audio versions of. I already listen to the Meat Eater podcast, and Case file, which is more a crime type podcast. I did find the Steven Rinellas books on audible, has anyone read them and what did you think?

If you have any interest at all in history (or most likely even if you don’t) the Hardcore History podcasts by Dan Carlin titled “Wrath of the Kahn’s” and “Steppe Stories”. Historical fiction- Conqueror Series by Conn Iggledon. They are about the Asiatic Steppe people, Mongols in particular, and how pretty everything the West thinks it “knows” about them is incorrect. Have yet to introduce a single person to them that doesn’t become addicted.

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History is very good. To really geek out, listen to Stephen West, Philosophise This! 40 episodes in already with about 80 more to go. I’ll have to look into Case File. All great when stuck in the daily commute!

Elk Talk Podcast, Gritty Podcast, Born and Raised Audio Experience Podcast, Hunt Backcountry Podcast are all awesome options!
Edit: I found all of Rinellas books great when I read them but I have read on here that the narrator for Rinellas books isn’t as eloquent as he is himself so it takes away from the books a bit.

YES to the Conqueror series, soooooo good. Historical fiction is a great genre.

Right To Roam hits on the conservation/wildlife management front with biologists and conservation NGO folks

Any Bernard Cornwell readers will like the Conn Iggulden books too.

Hunttalk radio
Meat eater

Non hunting
The way I heard it with mike Rowe
Lore
One tough podcast
Hardcore history
Jocko podcast

I just started Slate’s podcast, Slow Burn, and I’m hooked. Season 1 told the detailed story of Watergate. Season 2 is three episodes into the scandals of the Clinton White House. It’s not salacious, and gives a solid, highly detailed account of the little known story elements.

A lot of good Podcast mentioned in here and elsewhere. I'll add "Legends of the Old West" a very well done Podcast about western history.

Extreme Ownership from Jocko Willink
Jocko Podcast from Jocko Willink.

Stand by to get some.

I forgot to add, if you like crime/history, the podcast called Mafia isnt too bad. The guy goes through the lives of most of the biggest mafia gangsters out there.

Joe Rogan Experience
Beyond the kill
The Hunting Collective
The Western Bowhunter
Trailrunner Nation
Meateater
BHA podcast and Blast
Splendid Table
Jay Scott outdoors
Kifarucast
