ATV vs Side by Side archery elk hunting

I live in central Idaho and have a can-am defender. I never hunt from it, though. The roads can be pretty rough and steep in places, so I use it for getting to the area I’m hunting, then I’m off on foot. It gets used year-round with the family too.

Id be a atv guy, cost of sxs are stupid. Plus, id be using it mainly due to spring time bear just for access that my boat anchor of a truck can't do for me. Otherwise, most places I've gone to, a sxs or atv isn't needed.

I have both. I'll take the SxS every time if I can. Way more comfortable and fun.

I picked up Honda pioneer 520 ($11500 out the door) and I now have zero use for a ATV. 50” wide machine. Slapped some 27” tire on it and it’s a lil beast on the tight trails. Even without power steering I’ve had no issues. For the $550 I think I’ll add the PS kit to it anyway. And it fit in the back of the truck.
