I have a 4 wheeler that needs some new tires. I was looking at the Maxxis bighorns, but if you guys have something that you recommend for less $$ let me know.

I just replaced the factory tires on my Polaris Sportsman 500 with some Kenda Bearclaw’s but not the HTR. I’ll see how they perform. I usually Slime them as I do a lot of riding in thorn tree habitat here at home and rocky terrain when out west. Maybe I should have went for the radial HTR.

Not sure what they cost but I have ran Baja Cross X/D's on my king Quads and Pioneer with excellent results. I would never go less than 8 ply tires. There are times I am 50 miles from any help and the last thing I want to do is have tire problems and have to walk out. I carry repair kits but I have never had to use them either.

Dang I was thinking 6ply would be good, but you make a great point that these machines can take you to places that would suck to walk back from!

I purchased 4 each Sedona Rip-Saw R/T 28x10-14 and after 1500 miles they are showing large cracks on the side walls of the tires. Some of these cracks our 2 to 3 inches long and a 1/8 to 3/16 of and inch wide. There is up to twenty cracks on two of the tires. i do not dare drive on these tires no longer. Please help as i have lots of miles left on the tread. i store my bike in my garage. SEDONA tire told me that it was a LACK OF PROPER CARE. I clean my tires after every use. DONT BUY WHATEVER YOU DO,YOU WILL BE STRANDED AND THEY DONT BACK THEIR TIRES.

Sunf AO33 tires. Same pattern as the Bighorn, 6 ply, half the price. Turned my Polaris into a tank that goes anywhere.

I replaced 4 tires a while back on my 2008 Polaris 500 X2 with OEM replacements. I replaced them with the Carlyle AT489 XL 6ply. No complaints here and the price was tolerable.

I run the 6 ply Wanda knock offs of the Bighorn. They have done well for me. They look to have bigger deeper tread than the bighorns.

Another Bearclaw HTR vote. I have a Can-Am Outlander 1000 that I ride like like I’m afflicted over the worst rocky rough terrain you will ever find. They have been nothing short of amazing.

I'll second the ITP Baja Cross tires. Great 8 ply tire for rough, harsh conditions. I have about 4000 miles on a set and they've been awesome.

I have run Bighorns for over 10k miles on my RZR in the AZ desert. Have never had a flat tire and am on my third set. Driving on pavement even for a short drive really wears them down. I've had friends buy Bighorn II's and have terrible luck with flats.
