I notice quite a few guys from the Ozarks region or thereabouts on this forum. I'm from St. Louis and do most of my outdoorsy stuff in the Ozarks, except for the occasional exotic trip to somewhere really cool. I'm wondering how much interest there would be in forming a group of guys to meet in person from time to time to discuss planning hunting and/or fishing trips. I'm in my late 50's, in decent shape, but just don't know many guys who like to do this kind of thing. If this sounds like something you would want to do, please chime in.

Remember, at this point I am just gauging interest, so all details will have to be determined later. Where and how often we would meet, how formal or informal we want it to be, etc., are things we would need to work out among ourselves. But I love to do both local and exotic trips, from crappie to king salmon, from squirrels to trophy moose. So if this sounds like something worth pursuing to you, let me know.
That's a really good idea.

At the risk of making this Hunter Tinder.....

I will be moving to the ( rural ) Mountain Home, AR area somewhere around the end of the year, depending on the house build and me getting things settled here. I will be retired ( 49yo ) and will have plenty of time for hunting and fishing. I would like to find someone that will have free time too and wants to hunt and fish.

I have a couple of boats ( nothing fancy ), camper, UTV etc. Just starting the process to hunt out west and will have time to scout/fish in the off season.

Not much I dont hunt, or dont want to hunt or catch. Serious bowhunter, but am fine with rifle hunting too.

I can get along with anyone, but overall a pretty quiet person. I handle my own stuff, so dont need my hand held, but absolutely willing to learn about new areas, particularly out west.

If you know how to fish trout rivers that definitely a plus, my new place is 7mi from the White River.

Miket, I posted a message on your profile, but I'll respond here as well. We should meet up some time. Why don't you give me a holler when you move. I'll be happy to show you some trout fishing tricks if you'll help me with my bow hunting skills.

Good luck with your move, I know it can be a PIA.

I'm still serious about doing it. I might re-start the discussion this fall. Hopefully we can have our first meeting late this year or early next year when hunting season has wound down.

Old threads never die. Count me in if something comes together! I've fly fished most of the major streams in the Ozarks and a few oddballs (Crane Creek). I also shoot skeet, trap, NRL, and some long range target.

Consider yourself counted in! If I get at least a dozen others, I will start organizing a meeting.

By the way, at the risk of sounding ignorant, what is NRL?
