Athlon Cronus 12-36x50 vs Vortex Razor HD 11-33x50

If you could have either of these scopes price not being a factor, which would you choose? Im liking the extra magnification and less weight of the Cronus but it’s very marginal.

Also curious on people’s opinion of how much zoom is “enough” I was originally looking for something with a 45-48x magnification but the weight savings of the smaller scopes is hard to beat.

IMO the Cronus is a superior product both optically and overall quality

if you want something function in that 45 zoom then you need to go with kowa 550 series or bump up to the 65 mm or larger.

The Hawke Endurance ED 15-45x60 is a great option at 2 pounds

How does that Hawkeye compare the the Cronus or the Razor in terms of optical quality. At only $500 I would assume it would be a step down. I’d love a Kowa but that’s just not in the budget.

The Hawke Endurance ED 15-45x60 is on par with the Athlon Ares 15-45x65 which has gotten amazing feedback

So more in line with the viper line in comparison to vortex. I wish Athlon made a Cronus scope in a mid size. Do you know if it’s possible to change out eyepieces to increase magnification?
