Looking for reviews on this. Looking for my first spotting scope looking to spend 600 range and this looks like a god option. Let me know if there are better options

The reviews from these guys helped me to decide to purchase it
Ultimately, I am very happy with it at the price. I dropped it off a cliff and had to send in for warranty. No Q's asked they sent me a new one

Like others said it is good for the price. Can find them even cheaper in the classifieds. I mainly use mine for digiscoping

Been happy with mine. I was also able to find a Cronus 86mm for around the same price of the Ares new and the Cronus is fantastic despite the limited FOV.

Is this for spotting from near the truck or carrying it in?

I’ve found that the mid size, mid priced scopes are kind of ok at some things but great at nothing.

Too heavy for me personally to want to hike with it all day. For that, I’d get a Nikon ED50 or just use 15x or 18x binos and not bring my 10x.

For the truck, might as well get an 80mm plus scope because weight isn’t an issue.

I had one and liked it. Wider fov than other scopes in it's price range like the Viper and nothing really to complain about. I sold it because as gunsarefun said it was a little heavier than I wanted to trek long distances with and if I am going to bring something big I would rather the light gathering of an 82mm scope.

I picked one up last year and I've been happy with it. I'd suggest watching the S&S archery review of spotters on YouTube. I believe it was last year. They compare all kinds of high end, mid range and backpack spotters. That video sold me on the Ares. I also have a Cabelas credit card and had saved up a few hundred bucks off the spotter, so managed to get the $ down.

I was happy I purchased it. I don't carry it much in the Backcountry now, but when I did I didn't feel crippled... Is it a Swaro/Kowa... No. But it definitely is priced well below the comparable spotters.

I didn't agree with Steve 100% at the end, he said 90% I thought it should have been more like 70%, but I can't deny that we both like this spotter for the money!

I bought one a few black Fridays ago. We love it. Goes to the range with me every trip. It's been plenty of glass for all the shooting we do.
