ATF Booth at SHOT Show

You guys must have had some bad interactions. My inspector is awesome. I can call him day or night and get assistance. I guess I’m lucky? Is it the laws that our Congress has passed, the bureaucracy, or the agency in general that gets bitched about the most? I’m truly curious.

What’s his opinion on why suppressors are still regulated under the NFA?
I understand that the ATF didn’t make the law, just curious about his thoughts.

I haven't asked about opinions as that really isn't useful in his capacity. I do know he likes guns and hunting as much as any of us here do. Young dude, military.

Fair enough.
Maybe ask what the justification is for suppressors being regulated under the NFA?

Because they were included in the 1934 NFA guess? Hell I don't agree with it, I think it's stupid. Write your Senator. Does that make everyone who works for the ATF a bad guy? There's lotsa shit bag operators out there with badges. But not all.

This is in no way meant for you specifically by the way. It's all good.

Same here.
It seems to be universally recognized that it’s an ignorant and antiquated law.
I’ve just always been curious as to what people who were with the ATF thought.

I’m not knocking the individual you deal with, just the company he works for.

Or the Power Granted by the Constitution to create the agency in the first place
Not to mention the purpose of the 2A is to protect against them specifically

Debating the merits of a bad law with an officer who has sworn an oath to uphold the laws seems pointlessly antagonistic and obnoxious. It seems to me like attacking a veteran of a particular war for being involved in that war.

The gun dealers I know get along well with our local agents.
