Anyone using an assault bike to get ready for the mountains? I mix it up on mine between sprints and longer duration rides but wondering if anyone has anything specific they like to do?
I do some longer, lower intensity sessions and a few sprints. I will get out of the saddle and pedal while standing to simulate climbing (no current access to a stairclimber due To Covid)
I also mix mine with other leg work for intervals. Like a 1/2 mile bike and a set of box jumps, lunges or burpees. Rinse and repeat for 20-60 minutes.
That's pretty much my mix up too. Only thing is I can't just do a low intensity distance ride lol, I hop on with full intention of going 30-40 min at a decent pace then the last 5-10 min I start challenging myself to go faster and then I end up dead at the end. I'm sure it's making me better but I don't do that on the tread mill lol. Good point about standing to mimic a climb. I actually did a wod the other day that said to remove the seat and do them standing
