I need to seal my aging asphalt driveway. It's big. I've done it myself 3 times now and have bought 5 gallon buckets and used brooms/squeegies. Im looking to buy a couple 55 gallon drums and do it myself again. Looking for insights and which particular product to buy.
Thanks,
Jim

We have used the star seal product in the past dont know if its available for people to just buy. But sealer only gets you so far at some point you will have to chip seal it to keep maintained. Up here its a every 3-5 year thing. Its why i always say concrete might be more up front but cheaper in the long run.

Sealmaster

Do your self a favor, buy a 200-300 gallon ag tank off Craigslist and keep it. Throw a cheap ball valve on it and buy in bulk it’s way cheaper. Purchase a seal broom as it get material in the the cracks better then a squeegee.

1 gallon of seal master on decent asphalt, not horribly cracked and pitted, should cover roughly 50 sqft.

I’d get double what you think you will need on that conversion so you can do 2 thick coats if it’s been a few years. Don’t cut your seal with water. Unless your dealer tells you to and they will line you out on how many gallons to add.

If you have cracks that look like an alligators back or spider webs just DM and we can talk. You should seal once a year with 1 or 2 coats. To keep up with the maintenance schedule for asphalt
