Arrow Tailspin

So I spent the time and paper tuned then used the step back tuning method and my bow is dead on tuned. I’m pulling 65# with a 340 spine, 27” and 125 gr tip. Every now and then I can see my arrow do what I call a tail spin however I still group fairly well even out to 50 yards.

is this a sign of my arrow being under spinned?

When you say you group well out to 50 yards - are your field points and broadheads grouping together at that range? If so, then no, I don't think you're underspined.

If grouping together, it's probably an illusion, because if you're getting the tail kicking out in any way you'd probably see that in terms of a difference between field points and broadheads.

Do you have one odd colored vane? Sometimes in the right light that vane makes it look like a wobble as the arrow is spinning.

Shoot broadheads and compare to field points, that will tell you if you have an issue.

They should group together once fully tuned.

This sounds crazy but I use to see my arrow change direction somewhere inside of 20 yards. Bow was naturally turning to the left and I had 4 fetch right helical.

Nope. If your arrows are flying perfectly....that one vane won't matter.

Shoot a bareshaft in there...or shoot BH's....then follow a tuning guide.

Its common for guys to think a bullethole in paper with FP's...or pretty good groups with FP's is tuned- NOPE...not the case.

A bare shaft or a BH tells you if that arrow is coming out of the bow cockeyed....FP's are very forgiving.
