What would you recommend, I have roughly 2.5" I could cut? But here's another concern...it my FT and BH arrows are hitting in the same spot on the target...what difference does it make. Conner said having a razor sharp BH a bit further out is a safety issue as well, less chance of injuring your hand.
Well...how is your setup shooting now? Have you shot your broad heads at that range? Are they shooting with your field points? Have you tuned your bow? I guess all of the guys responding to you all make good suggestions but at the end of the day, we are all looking for results. When we talk about under spined, etc... We are focused on arrow flight with our hunting equipment. So, if you are getting the results you are looking for, don't touch it. If you are having issues, than you might look at some of the post above. I too agree with the guys, I like to be on the stiff side, but I hate the idea of short arrows (just me)
Based on what you are saying below, and you like longer arrows based on your friends suggestions, you need a stiffer spooned arrow as SDHNTER said. yes, you can lighten your broad head to help.
You basically have these options:
Cut your arrows - makes them stiffer
Lighten your broad head - make arrow stiffer (likely the least amount of change)
Get stiffer spine arrow, cut to same length and use same broad head.
I suggest you use what your setup likes best. It all boils down to results. How is the setup shooting now?
