Hey guys,

I'm looking for an arrow with a minimum factory length of 32" (i'd prefer 32.5+), no more than 10.5 GPI with a spine between 250-300. Anyone have any recommendations?

Carbon tech whitetails are 32" and 9.5GPI for the 300s. They have shot better than any other arrow I have tried so far and are pretty tough.

Thanks for the recommendation jay03

I've looked at the GT Velocity's and they would probably work but I would really prefer something over 32" and I'm thinking I'll probably need something a little stiffer then the 300 spine with the new bow I have on the way. I've get them on my radar though.

Anyone know if Carbon Express makes an arrow that would fit my criteria?

How about the victory VAPs? Anyone know how long they are?

It might help if you tell us what your working with as far as bow, DL, and poundage are concerned.

I might be overlooking something but I don't believe carbon express has anything stiffer than a .318 spine arrow. Also without looking through every available arrow out there I think your going to have a tough time staying as light as 10.5 GPI and going under a .300 spine. If you look at most carbon arrow charts from different manufacturers as arrow spine gets stiffer the GPI gets heavier. The carbon tech rhino comes in a .200 spine but its 15 GPI! making for a very heavy arrow.

I did a quick search and the Easton Deep six XD comes in a .295 spine, 10.7GPI, at a 32.5" stock length. Honestly that's probably as close as your going to get to your wish list. The Easton axis comes in a .260 spine and 34" long but 11.5GPI so a little heavier than your looking for. As you can see your searching for something just outside the threshold of whats available. You might have to go a little heavier than you wanted in the GPI of the arrow to get a stiffer spine.

The victory VAP .250 spine is light at 9.7gpi but I believe they are 31.5" according to a quick google search. But you might call Victory to verify.

Thanks for the help Jay. The more I research the more I realize that "perfect" arrow is just barely out of reach. The black eagle renegades might fit the bill though. The BE x-impacts are 9.5 GPI at the 250 spine but come in at 32". I'd also need an outsert with this arrow and that extra half inch would be nice. I'll have to compromise on a few things but i'll come up with something that will fit my needs.

I'll be shooting these arrows out of a 55# Centaur Longbow. Draw length is about 31.5"

Hey Brian,

I noticed you had some Black Eagle X-Impact arrows for sale last year. You mentioned in the add you were also selling the Easton Deep Six HIT Inserts with the shafts? Did those inserts work out for you on those BE arrows?

The Black Eagle Rampage 250's are 32" and 10.7gpi........might be as close as you're going to get. Maybe you should just shoot a wheel bow.;) I shoot 32 1/2" draw and shoot 30" arrows.

Have you run the numbers through OT2? Your DW, DL, brace height, etc all play a part in determining your optimum choice. The smaller diameter Axis 340s at 10.3gpi were the sweet spot for me.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I've narrowed it down to a few options from Black Eagle and Easton and it will really just come down to picking up a few shafts and seeing what fly's well for me. Thanks again!

Out of a longbow? What head weight are you shooting? I shoot a 50# recurve at 31" draw with ar least 225 grains up front and a 400 spine arrow shoots like a dart. Your longbow center shot? Out past center, or past center? Seems like you are going to be WAY overspined for your bow, no matter the draw length. Unless you shoot a ton of weight up front. Post this up in the trad section and see what Ryan offers up.
