This is as far as I can get the locking pin to go up. Is there an east fix or am I missing something? I’m just trying to avoid another 60 mile trip to exchange it.

Are you saying that if you put the base (where your thumb is) on a flat surface and push down on the body of the jig (the part between your thumb and fingers), the pin will not reach the top of the slot where you can move it over and lock it so the jig arms are in the open position?

Yeah about 1/8” before it is high enough to slide over it stops. I sat it on the counter and pushed as hard as I could thinking maybe it was just stiff but it still won’t go high enough.

It shouldn't take much force as you are only overcoming spring tension. I would call the manufacturer tomorrow and see what they say about it. Might save you a trip.

Mine was doing that after pulling it out of storage for the first time in 6 years. I pushed a little harder and it went...maybe some glue stuck somewhere was holding it back? Not sure what the cause was, but it's functioned properly since.
