Arizona Draw to cover two years

Hopefully a quick question. This will be my first time applying in Arizona and i know people have mentioned that a license will cover two years for elk/pronghorn. With the draw closing on the 4th this year, do i select the effective date for my license to be the 4th also if I am looking to hopefully cover two years with the license?

Does it stop you from applying at that time or does it let it go through?

I apply for deer and elk so I am stuck buying a license every year.

In your case it wont matter. Im an every other year deer point buyer.

Yea, I dont know why I went for elk points. I dont even like hunting the damn things.

This changed? Last year I was able to apply prior to the deadline but put the start date as the 5th or 6th whatever it was last year.

Correct. I thought something was wrong on my end and called to find out to my surprise.

Man I imagine it is going to be...I am in my off year so I guess I will cross that bridge next year. If you remember, update us on how it goes.

Tuesday won't be an issue if you think about it and plan your app time accordingly.
Also, you only need to apply on the last day, when you initially buy the license. next year you can apply when the draw opens.

The regs state " valid license at the time of the entry and deadline". Like stated above the deadline changes every year.

Isn't it a $160 savings? I don't apply for MD every year, so I'm not worried about loyalty points for that. ELK>MD

Be mindful of when the app period is at the end of the cycle and kicks forward again. The Commission adopts the app period dates at the August meeting.

If you are doing the 2-for-1 license you will need to wait until 2/4.
