Argali Selway 6P Tent

They’re are multiple reels on their Instagram that show the Selway erected and how much they compress in their stuff stack..

Anyone have first hand comparison of this to the Redcliff? Looking to buy one or the other.

Both are excellent tents. The real main differences are, Seek Outside American made with nylon fabric. Argali made overseas and utilizes SilPoly. Argali has the removable stove Jack which can save you a few ounces if you don’t plan on using the stove. I prefer the liner configuration on the Argali over the SO. Other then that, the differences are pretty minimal.

I parted with the SO mainly due to the fabric. Nylon sags when battling moisture/snow. It eats up the interior usable space. On the other hand, SilPoly has minimal stretch and doesn’t sag.

If you encounter a lot of snow or moisture, I would opt for the Argali.

Thanks 406. What’s the head height and livable space like between the two?

On paper it looks like the argali wins. It’s harder to see the difference in pictures. Honestly it looks like the red cliff has more room.

Yeah, I know the argali appears to win on paper. Looking at every picture I’ve seen, the seek looks bigger. Especially in the livable space department.

Pictures are deceiving. Argali has 25 additional square feet..

Livable square footage and square footage are two different animals.

For instance, I watched the video of Brad setting their tent up. I think he’s a taller dude but I don’t think he’s close to 7 foot. Based on the video, the top of his head is more or less at the top of the tent. I wouldn’t call that 7 foot head height, that’s 7 foot peak height. Realistically, 6 foot looks like the max head height without hitting the walls at the peak.

Correct, but If you utilize the exterior guy out points and properly tension/angle them correctly, you can get the walls fairly vertically on the Argali.The guy out points are higher up then on the SO, therefore giving you more space. They’re both advertised as a 6P shelter so the difference in space is minimal at best. If truly worried about space, just upsize to a 8p shelter.

Like I mentioned before, your going to have more space with a SilPoly tent then a nylon tent of the same size during a a snow storm due to the sag of the nylon. Just order both and see which one you like better.


PS- Argalli just announced a 8p shelter


Alternative for best headroom, but coming in at more weight.

I don’t know, that’s what I was trying to figure out. Ended up going with a red cliff for a fly in hunt this fall.

I think I’ll take the redcliff out on a float hunt this year. If the interior space seems too cramped in the rain, I can always post it in the classifieds.
