Argali Dyneema 2P and 4P Tents

We are finally getting around to releasing a Dyneema version of our Absaroka and Rincon tents along with Dyneema half inserts. To all of you on here that have asked for them, I appreciate your pattience as fabric lead times for Dyneema can be horrendous. I have used prototypes of both models a lot over the last two years of testing, including on a sheep hunt last year in Alaska (photo below).

We will be running a 48 hour pre-sale on them on March 6th for those that are interested and I expect they will go relatively quickly. There is a sign up button on the product page for each of these tents. Let me know if you have any questions.

No, the Dyneema half insert saves another 4 ounces. so the whole kit saves about 3/4 lb.

The biggest benefit is weight savings, but Dyneema fibers are stronger than steel, so it is incredibly strong even in a lightweight fabric. There are a couple new fabrics emerging that might compare to dyneema, but right now there isn't anything on the market that compares to Dyneema for being super light and strong. Dyneema isnt impenetrable, but is has better strength than most woven fabrics. Dyneema has pretty much 0 stretch to it as well, and for some reason it doesn't attract condensation nearly as much as traditional tent fabrics either. So, benefits are weight, strength and condensation.

Yes, all of the regular full and half Inserts will work with the Dyneema tents.

Same place all our tents are made, in China. Our factory partner there makes the best moutaineering and backpacking tents in the world, and as I've said many times here on Rokslide, I think the quality of our tents, is second to none.

They come fully seam taped so no need to seam seal.

@Brad@Argali I’m in the market for a light weight backpack tent and your new dyneema tent looks like it hits several of my requirements. While I don’t like the fact of it being made in china ( like the iPhone I’m using) your products look top notch. my question is with any warranty or repairs that may be needed in the future. This is where I appreciate SO made in USA and the ability to make repairs. Is there a link or a thread or answer you can provide on this for the new Dyneema tent.

I pre-registered for the Pre order on the website also in anticipation this is the tent I’ll order

Good question. The short answer is yes, we do gear repairs all the time. We repair our polyester tents at our Boise warehouse (we also do all our knife sharpening there, cut titanium for our stoves, etc.), and the Dyneema tents would be the same. The issue wouldn't be whether or not we do repairs on tents, but the nature of the issue needing to be repaired. Meaning, small tears, cuts, zipper issues, etc. are easy to fix. There are limits to when a tent can be repaired vs. when it has been compromised beyond repair, and we make those determinations on an individual basis.
