Are You Hunting if Thermal imaging?

This is not necessary. He made a comment-which was accurate, and then a statement.

If you’re gonna hang around, read the room. No need for childish crap stirring.

Dude, calm down.

If you can't see the difference in the range of comments, then y'all must use different English over there.

You come in and are making remarks at people/name calling, then turning it around trying to make yourself a victim.
Chill.

public land thermaling- its sooooo common in australia now, everyone who couldnt find the elusive deer are now taking "trophy" deer more often than not- an those who couldnt find deer are now harvesting 3x more.
with no herd managment its a downward spiral IMO, but the govt doesnt want the deer.... nor our guns it seems.

But To You guys in America..... where does thermal sit with you on Public land?
is it even hunting anymore? or just looking to kill?

love to hear it.

OP, it largely seems to come down to concepts of fair chase, and the types of animals being hunted.

For invasive species and varmints, like hogs, coyotes, etc, it's largely a non-issue, and people seem to largely have no problem in using thermal. Especially with animals whose populations are becoming problematic.

When people do have a problem with thermal hunting, it's largely related to game animals where tags are issued, and where fair-chase values are applied - things like elk, mule deer, etc. In that context, it's generally seen as cheating. Cheating both in robbing the animal of fair-chase, and almost in how it's a bit of stolen valor, in terms of fairly evaluating the difficulty of a guy's hunt and in the accomplishment of taking a big animal. In that respect, not too different from using a drone to kill a trophy animal.

Overall, it's very much a subjective thing relating to personal and broader cultural values, but that's largely where people seem to draw the lines.
