Scouted 7 days. Found few better bucks. I had never killed anything larger than 140 with my bow, so that was what I was looking for.
Best buck was pushin 170 ish. Blew it on him twice and that's all the chances I got.
Day 7 found this guy. Stalked down and he was still in the same spot. 44 yards and killed him dead. He did a complete front flip after crashing into some brush. Broke both his front legs in the crash. Arrow went through both shoulders, clipping both lungs but low.
Shooting alpha max 32 with injections and muzzy trokars. New broad heads this year. I only shoot 61 lbs. bad shoulders and multiple surgeries. But have killed many an elk and deer with a heavier arrow and low poundage. Just have to know your yardage I guess.
Anyway, best I have gotten.
Used a eberlestock X2 1200 yards straight up. Had a friend and his boy there to help so it wasn't to bad. Dumb thing was we stripped everything down to the basics to pack him out and I left my havalon in my bino case. Luckily I had 3 blades in my pack in a small pocket. Kind of tough breaking down a deer without the handle. But got it done.
