Applied Ballistics vs Hornady BCs

I usually pick the middle g7 that Hornady publishes and just shoot. Works pretty good across several rifles.

This is my default position, simply because he is doing the work and leading in pushing the science, more specifically in the ELR world.

I mean he is getting a TON of data running his mobile lab. I add the caveats like real world experience from shooters too, to inform my ideas. You gotta take info from Form into account too…

In the end, the difference between what we start with is so small and we should price out the model for our own rifle, so just starting with what Litz says is an easy shortcut that gets me close enough with confidence to keep going from there.

I wanted to bump this up for some thoughts. I'm getting a new 22" 7T .223 barrel for a rifle and was planning on having it setup with a long free bore to run the 88s. The use is mostly for some local competitions and cost efficient trainer to practice positional shooting (not a specific hunting trainer) mostly to the 900 yard range but occasionally to 1200 yards.

Has anyone run both the 80s and 88s and come to prefer one or the other for .223 velocities? If not, I suppose I'll just proceed with a long free bore for the 88s because that seems like an interesting thing to try.
