Thought those in Oregon might want to see this. Hope this is ok to post in this section. Or should it be in firearms?

It’s just another day in a dem state trying to undermine the constitution.

Never shocks me that those who represent us, those who took an oath to uphold the constitution are the ones who most frequently try to break it.

I’ll say it again, until consequences are given to those who knowingly subvert our constitution, nothing will change until they eventually get what they want….that goes for a lot of issues right now.

I'm so glad I live in the south. I know the permit thing has been around forever. I have an old colt 38 snubnose that was my grandpa's. I still have the permit he had to get signed by the sheriff in MI to get it. The 10rd mag thing is beyond stupid.

I'm so damn sick of "common sense" being used to legitimate these radical leftist gun control bills. Common sense would tell you that restricting law abiding gun owners from exercising their constitutional rights is just plain wrong.
I’m sure all the lawbreakers will be heading down to the local sheriff to go through the class so they can buy their guns.

I’m sure people already feel so much safer.

Not to hijack the thread but in other Oregon news (I’m sure there’s no connection 😆), just pointing out the people advising in this state.

Oregon is toast...for now. Hopefully some normal folks will awaken from their stupor and take it back.

Just another example of “ Death by a thousand cuts “ when it comes to private ownership of firearms. Make acquisition and ownership of a firearm such a PITA /expensive that over time more and more of the citizenry will say , “ Screw it, it’s not worth the hassle and expense. “ Combine that with a steady drumbeat of the inherent evils of guns and over time you’ll have fewer and fewer firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens. Might take a while, but the goal is achieved.

According to them that is normal. That’s the problem. People in that/they category think we are the weird ones. I totally agree with you on that they/them/turtle stuff.
It’s mental health issues all over the USA not just Oregon.
Personally I blame a lot of this mental stuff on the Covid days and now it’s carried over

Technically, as of right now, measure 114 is in effect. I’m not sure if any of the requirements are actually able to be implemented as of this morning though.

*** edit, a release by the Oregon DOJ says:

"Even with today’s decision, the law will not go into effect immediately. Procedural rules give the challengers 35 days to seek further appellate review of the decision."

This will be appealed to the Oregon Supreme Court and they will most likely ask for the injunction to go back into effect while waiting for the OSC’s decision.

Death by a thousand cuts for sure. Like Elk97 said, the use of the term "common sense" is really irritating when used to justify nonsense legislation. How about using "common sense" to uphold the Constitution??

Isn't it ironic (?) that Oregon would have have someone on the Oregon Health Authority Consumer Advisory Council that has a clear mental health problem? I have compassion and understanding for those that have mental health issues but I believe we're currently not addressing it appropriately. Somehow we seem to lack.... common sense.

Thankfully extremely rare in these parts. Predictably common in many states.
