Anyone using the mystery ranch terraframe for hunting?

Like the layout of the mystery ranch Marshall, but it’s a little too big for what I need. Was looking at the terraframe 65 or 80 and was wondering if anyone uses them and could give some feedback

I have a terraframe 50 that I have used for a 10 day backcountry trip in Oregon. It worked very well and was comfy. I’ve also used it for a week long scouting trip last month. I would hesitate to use it for hunting. I just picked up a mule bag to use on the frame for shorter day trips.

I purchased the terrafame 50 earlier this year, plan on using it for most of my hunting this season. So far I've only used it for training but very comfortable and well designed.

I use the 50. Love it. It’s almost identical to whatever model it mirrors in the hunting line except it’s got a lighter Cordura. Less durable, but saves some ounces. Plenty durable for me. The 50 I’ve used for hunts that were a few days, but could’ve stretched it longer with some careful packing.

I agree, I feel I could easily pack for 3-5 days and longer if I was careful.

Okay guys, I bought a terraframe 50 on a guide light frame. Love it so far. Packed everything I needed for 3 days and still had a little bit of room. Granted, my camp set up isn’t the lightest or smallest that I’d like, but it works. I learned a lot last year on what and what not to pack, so this year my bags about 15 pounds lighter Took it on one training hike and love the way it rides.

Old thread, but similar question. New to western hunting. Looking at the terraframe 80 and 50. Both are same price. Hoping to get 5-7 days Backcountry out of it. Need some wisdom on which one to go with. Thanks

Sorry to revive an old thread, but anyone else have experience load hauling with the Terraframe 80? Was looking for a general purpose hiking pack that could serve double duty for a future backpacking hunt. Found the MR terraframe 80l on Sierra for $229 with free shipping, seems like a total steal for a 150lb capacity pack with the overload feature.

I can give a little insight. The four wheeler battery was dead the last time I went to fill my deer feeder so I strapped 2 40lb bags of corn to my terraframe 50 and it handled it like a dream. Hard on the legs, but the frame handled it and stayed fairly comfortable. I didn’t have too far of a walk, maybe a mile or so. But normally if a pack is going to be uncomfortable with that much weight, you’ll know as soon as you put it on

Looking to get a terraframe 50 myself! I like the looks and reviews of the new Guide light MT frame these come with now..same upgraded frame as the hunting line.

I ordered the MR Terraframe 80 last week as I prefer the verticel pockets on the exterior and the attatchments. Ive got a Selway which is great but once again I like the external pockets...
MR makes great stuff.

Love MR packs but always feel like there is a weight penalty. Lighter cordura could make this an interesting option.

I'll chime in on this once my pack gets here. I just bought a Terraframe 80 XL yesterday, should be here in a couple days then the break in starts. What is it about new gear that makes you feel like a kid on christmas.

Got it last night, and tested it out. Loaded up 80 measured pounds and went for a stroll. Pretty flat but uneven ground and around a mile. Not an extensive test by any means but the belt really did well at putting the majority of the load on my hips and keeping it there. Shoulder straps were very nicely padded and what weight was on them felt comfortable. It still felt like 80 pounds but felt like I could have gone quite a ways with it. Just for reference I used a Tenzing 5500 prior to this so to me it was night and day as far as comfort.

That was my experience thus far so I thought I would share it.

`I've got the 80 loaded ready to break that sum biatch in. For me the 50 wouldn't cut it for a week especially if you gotta add cold weather gear. Seen it snow in the Frank 18" sept 15th.
