I am looking to buy some low top hikers/sneakers for around town and mostly casual walks on trails. I might be going to to Guatemala this summer for a mission trip in the rainy season so I was looking at the Goretex lining as that would be pretty useful down there. Has anyone used Lowa low top hikers? I am open to other brands too but I don't care for the way Salomon sneakers have their name plastered so big on the shoes. It's not a deal breaker though.

I have the Innovo Lo. I like them a lot. They are kind of heavy. I wear them a lot. I wore them today to shoot trap. Mine are not Goretex.

My feet run hot. I can't imagine wearing Goretex shoe in Guatamala. It is hot there. If my feet got wet there, I would just let them dry. I also not sure what Goretex would offer in a low shoe? If you are in any amount of water it is going to come over the top, isn't it? Even a puddle would come over i would think. Maybe it would prevent wetting out in wet grass or foliage?

I wonder how the Renegade Lo in leather lined would be?

Do you find them sized correctly? I am also needing a wider toebox. They are about 17 oz per shoe according to the website but for what I would use them for it really wouldn't matter. I saw a pair of Fortux GTX for a decent price and a little lighter.
