I find the tripod is restrictive in certain tight angle of views and requires a larger area of space to use

I have a small 20x spotting scope, has anyone used a monopod instead of a tripod at this level of magnification?

Any tips?

The most AMAZING monopod for your purposes is the new Promaster Specialist Cine Monopod SPCM428K. It has a fluid head, Arca Swiss. Has 3 flip down supports. Working Height is 72 1/4". The handle is reversable for either right or left hand control. It has a lifetime no fault warranty for forum members. Normally it's a year. We extend it to lifetime. Regular price is $189.99, call us and mention the forum and it would be $159.99
Feel free to call me with any questions
Look forward to hearing from you

Depends what your trying to do with it, are you just wanting to take a quick peak at something after having already found it with binos or are you planning on viewing through the spotter for hours trying to find game?

This past weekend I had my buddies 15’s mounted to my feisol 3372 tripod. I left them in it while climbing a ridge and left a leg of the tripod extended essentially using it as a monopod while climbing. It was definitely better than freehanding for short periods of time but not stable enough to try and pick mule deer out of the shadows for any extended amount of time.

I personally prefer a tripod with no center post, you can get comfortable in all types weird terrain and positions.
