Anyone threaded and suppressed a Browning BLR?

Not sure if people are doing this to non-bolt guns.
Already removed the iron sights I don’t use to mount scope lower. Now
I’m about to have my 7-08 BLR takedown threaded for a suppressor. Wondering if others have done so and seen accuracy improvements like I’d expect to see (and have with my bolt guns).
If barrel is currently 20”, is it best to thread/suppress at that length or cut to 18”?
1/9.5” twist.
Also, suggest a lightweight/short suppressor for 7mm if you wish.

Thanks.

Not to hijack but I have a blr in 284win and have never seen a takedown. Any chance you can toss up a pic?

Thanks!

It’s with the gunsmith, but here are stock photos from internet.

abbrown, did you have your BLR threaded for a suppressor? I've got a .308 BLR that I was thinking of doing the same. A while back, I found a guy on the internet that had cut his BLR barrel back to 16 1/2" and threaded for a suppressor. He was happy with the results, but I cannot find that link again.

This is my old mans one, cut tob18", New Zealand made Gunworks over barrel suppressor.
Made an already heavy rifle an absolute tank.
Told him that when I inherit it, im maling some changes like lower scope rings and whipping the suppressor straight off 😅

You ever find a pet load for your .308? I have one and it’s just never done anything for me other than frustration haha I’m always interested if someone found a round it like I’ve tried a bunch and get about 1.5 moa out of it…

Factory 150 gr Core-lokts , power shok, power point and hornady whitetail.
If none will shoot a 3 shot moa group, you have very unusual issues. Send that POS my way

Thanks! I have been feeding it a bunch of 165 grn stuff, I’ll try the cheapo ammo, I do like it, it’s a super handy little timber gun and really 1.5 is plenty of 200 and in shooting

I am glad you brought this up, I have been thinking about threading my BLR (non takedown).

Can I piggyback on this? How about having one Cerakoted? Seems very few people want to take them apart, and it seems like you’d want to to Cerakote it properly.

Fwiw,

4 or so years ago I began offering a muzzle threading service for rifles that most shops typically avoid due to the complexity of trying to fit them inside of a lathe spindle. I own a large work envelope 5-axis milling center that makes this kind of work much simpler. We've done hundreds of them.

Happy to help.

C.

This is really cool… I’ve had this in the back of my mind for a while, you guys have done the ground work. Thanks!
