Anyone tested a Burris XTR ll or lll?

Just as an FYI- Seekins rings (and likewise the Vortex versions) show issues with drops. Not saying that’s the issue, just that scopes relatively often lose zero from drops with them, yet don’t with other standard Pic rings.
Great to know. Both drops with Burris scopes were with Seekins Rings. Any recommendations?

I will get a set of Warne Mountain Tech rings and test again. Is my Warne Mountain Tech rail fine, or should that be addressed.

Again thanks for your knowledge and help.

Commenting on this post. There was another post on the XTR 3 but I can't find it. On that one I had posted my initial thoughts and said I would give a follow-up. I've liked mine. No issues zeroing and working out dope for upcoming hunts. Felt good enough about it at that point that I took/trusted it on a nice trophy tag in Arizona. Just finished the hunt in Arizona. No issue losing zero traveling eight and a half hours from Central Utah. Held zero when it got bumped over onto the pavement when it was leaning on my truck in a parking lot. I always tell myself not to do that but some habits don't die I guess haha. It happened morning of opening day so nothing I could do but worry. Also was still in padded case so that helped. However, took a nice bull and the Burris was right on the money. Did not lose zero. So not worried about durability anymore. I've been very happy with it. Bull took three steps and dropped. Will continue testing in Colorado end of the month and beginning of November. From past experience I do also go overkill on the rings. I have Area 419 precision rings on this rig. I think that makes a difference as well. I've had issues with lightweight hunting type rings.

I have a 2024 Burris Veracity PH 3-15x44 en route. So far, I’ve heard tracking and RTZ is generally good with Burris. I’m looking forward to testing it out but…I won’t be dropping it lol.
How do you like the 3-15 PH? I’m considering picking one up but they same a bit harder to come by than the 4-20.

Awesome scope and major wow factor at the range. I've been able to use it in the field. It's so much easier to range an animal and go straight to the scope, dial and see the range in the HUD. No need to fumble with phone or try to read numbers on a turret inside a blind in fading light. Glass is really good and the reticle is good enough you dont even need to power on the scope and dial if its under 350, just use the reticle.

Sounds fantastic & exactly what I’d like! Thanks for the update. Now just trying to find one on sale lol. I qualify (medical) for ExpertVoice discounts with Vortex/Athlon….but not Burris. Whomp whomp.

You'll be very pleased. I do recommend a chronograph though to upload accurate data.

Great recommendation! I just ordered the Garmin off ExpertVoice for $450. Should come in next week. Blessed to get that discount!

This is kind of my first foray into FFP, dopes, dialing or holding, etc. Simple man, simple scopes until this. “Upgraded” to a Leupold VX3HD for an elk hunt I had and 1 custom dial later I realized it doesn’t have to be guesswork.

It’s all been a really fun learning experience since then. The PH seems right up my alley! I was able to score a used Gen 2 4-20, just haven’t mounted it yet. Hunting rig off getting re-barreled. I was thinking of getting the 3-15 for a 6.5 Grendel I have.

Yes. I'll post a picture tonight or tomorrow to confirm.

Ah. While disappointing, it’s not surprising. They were exactly the same rings as the Burris XTR’s- and those are now Chinese. I have broken several sets of the Chinese Burris’s.

Yeah I was disappointed. But they looked "okay" so I kept them.
