Anyone tape their ankles?

If you are going to use tape I would shave the lower leg and skip the pre wrap. All it does is make the tape slip and take away support.

I was thinking of doing that. The wife is not impressed. Lol. I will try this out and report back. Also trying the ankle pt stuff.
 
Agree with others - taping ankles is a decent temp fix but not a quick skill to develop - especially if it is your own ankle. I'd definitely look at the brace route if needed for short term. Most people do the basic exercises (4-way theraband), but then go back to regular workouts and never really work on advanced stages of stabilization and proprioception. To strengthen for chronic problems (once acute issues are resolved) work on exercises like single leg squats (no hand hold) and single leg squats on a dyna disc or foam mat- anything that provides a less stable surface and is challenging enough to keep you at it. Even then chronic ankle issues are tough... I try to avoid these questions as it is also my day job, but pm me if you have questions...
