Been hunting for a puffy jacket for my wife for this fall... FL is making a puffy for next year so that isn't an option... She is small so a men's small is pretty big on her.
Found the Prois Xtreme jacket and looks like a pretty cool company for women. Any one have any experience with them?

I had a few pieces for my wife. Nice stuff and she liked it. She bought herself a set up from the Cabelas line and likes it so she sold her Prois.

Does Cabelas have a decent synthetic puffy for women?
She get the outfit her line? Wife has a couple of those pieces and seems to like them as well.

Yeah the OutfitHer stuff. I dont think they have a puffy but they do have an insulated jacket. My wife just has the regular jacket. The Prois stuff is nice. If you dont mind the cost it should be a good piece.

I tried on a Prois puffy at the SHOT show last year, and was not impressed with the cut, fit or loft, especially for the price. Many better options available, at least IMO.

Any women's good quality puffy from an outdoor or mountaineering company should serve her well, it just may not be camo. I usually just run earth tone solids and don't worry about it. I have a treated down 800 fill jacket from GoLite that I love, while GoLite is out of business you should be able to find something similar from someone else. I would look on Sierra Trading Post, or your local outdoors store.

Some men's brands maybe an option as well, particularly if camo is important to you. I also have a synthetic Lost Parks jacket from Kifaru, the size small fits me well (I am 5'3 and 130ish lbs).

Thanks for the heads up! Do you have a personal recommendation for a synthetic puffy? Sounds like the Kifaru is a good route?

Seen lots of down patagonia/north face etc, but not tons of synthetic options...

I have been very happy with the Kifaru jacket so far, but have only had it on one coastal hunt this season (my treated down jacket gets the nod for most summer trips). It is Warm, durable and packs down reasonably small. I love the hood and the fact that it's long enough to cover my backside, and doesn't gap if I raise my arms. I do wish it had a zippered pocket to store my gloves and beanie. Will have more days with it and be able to give a more thorough review after my fall hunts--no hesitation to recommend it thus far, but I like to get more days of use before I really review something.

I also used a synthetic jacket made by Integral Designs/Barney's Sports Chalet, and liked it very well. I can't give a personal endorsement to any other synthetic jackets, but suspect there are offerings available from mainstream outdoor gear or mountaineering companies. If I were you, I would head to your local outdoor store and have her try some on. Mountain hard wear, OR, Arcteryx and Eddie Bauer First Ascent are all brands I have used (other items besides synthetic puffy) that might offer something.

Thanks so much! Defiantly will do. Have to say, pretty excited that first lite is releasing their women's line... When I emailed them a month ago, they said next summer they should have a woman's puffy

Yes, I am excited to see FL expand their women's line as well! I have been testing their women's merino pieces (Lupine crew and Artemis hoody) this summer and have been very impressed so far. Have been eying Luke's FL gear for years, and the quality is always top notch. It will be great to see their whole women's line develop.
