Anyone having just terrible shipping experiences this Holiday season?

Anyone ever have to do the chargeback process with your credit card company for a lost package? Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, but from what I’ve been reading there are consumer protections in place for items that are bought but never recieved.

I honestly did not expect this many responses to my initial question… it’s pretty disturbing to be honest. This is just a tiny sample of all the packages being shipped right now, so I can just imagine the total scope of the problems. It really makes me think about buying higher value items online vs trying to source them locally ( especially this time of year).

To update this, my one larger value package from USPS got delivered today...I thought it was lost for sure.... Woke up to a text saying it was scanned at my local post office and was out for delivery....so no scans at all from when it was accepted at its origin (Nov 25th) to when it was scanned at my regional distribution center and then my local post office (Dec 8th). Box was beat up a bit, and the tape was kinda coming off, but the contents were okay and all there. The one item from the boutique vendor got delivered today as well....that one never got scanned until an "arrived at hub" scan which was my local post office. The one item I have coming from FedEx actually got scanned into and out of a FedEx location about 1.5 hour from my house. Tracking said it was supposed to be delivered today, but it never made it on a truck (according to the scans) so I'm not expecting it....maybe tomorrow or the next day...

I have a buddy that drives OTR for UPS that I run into every now and then. I saw him recently and asked about the shipping issues...he said last week when he was making a run to South Dakota, there were three USPS truck/trailers in the ditch, and they were there for 2 days before they got pulled out

Today fedex stuffed a bag of clitges in my mailbox at the road. Sent me a picture to prove delivery. Later it ended up on the ground behind my mailbox, and a small package was in it with my daily bill delivery. I think the postal delivery person tossed the fedex delivery aside when they got there. Great service.

USPS is minimum of 10 days in my area (South GA) with some items taking almost 3 weeks. UPS guys are rockstars in my area; usually 3-4 days for UPS Ground.

Yes. USPS is a joke and so is anybody who works for them as they are complicit in the ignorance. Prices go up, service gets slower. It’s ******* unbelievable.

I have packages that I’ve been waiting on for 6 weeks and other that are 2-3 weeks from places which used to take under a week. I had an envelope show up after being “in transit” for 27 days.

Now, you try to file a complaint and you get a message about how you aren’t eligible to file a complaint. It’s maddening. The people at the PO counter are are powerless to help and they don’t give a shit either, just a bunch of dorks with no skills who only have jobs because they are veterans milking federal employment system.

I'll say this, Am$%^ is even taking a lot longer ---- If you order batteries from Am#$%^ like I do, you better be ordering, it's taking a lot longer than 2 days in my neck of the woods.

Most other things we've been ordering are taking a week to a little longer to come in to us. We are usually 2 days.

UPS was supposed to deliver a package Saturday AM, they showed up Monday at 9 PM. I've never got a delivery that late from anyone before. They must be absolutely swamped.

USPS has a package a week past anticipated delivery date. Shipped it to a distribution center an hour from home then shipped it 2 states away and now it's "in transit". It's a gamble if I'll see it at this point.
