Here's my take from a small sample of around a dozen deer taken with a 270 for what it's worth. I still shoot them in that rifle because they are what that rifle likes best, but I wished it liked accubonds or partitions. To me SST's perform extremely well in soft tissue. But, if you run them into heavy bone they aren't particularly tough. So I guess you should consider your style so to speak of where you like shooting animals. Standard broadside shots with no large bone involved they are fantastic. Shoulder type shots not so much in my limited experience.
I'm switching as many rifles as I can to accubonds because they have performed very well for me on a variety of shot placements. It's nice having a little "tougher" bullet in case things don't go as perfectly as I intend.
