Anyone hang their animal like this?

The one I got in NH sucked. 214# and it was a mile, and I was by myself. Went back to the car and got a sled to drag it's heavy ass. Almost ran me over and killed me multiple times on the downhills, and had to get out of one stream bed by deadlifting him up the hill 12" at a time. There are definitely times where quartering and pulling out with a backpack is easier (where legal). With that said, much easier to cut him up and process him at home and keep him clean.

It's really not that darn hard to keep em clean. I just put an emergency plastic poncho under them.... then process him such that I'm only skinning him over the area I'm currently removing the muscle groups from. For me, this minimizes how much flesh is exposed to the air at any one time, and reduces the onslaught of Yellow Jackets out there from constantly getting in your way and needing you to slow down to shoo 'em away gently often. Has to be gently, so you don't piss em off. Keeps the energy and buzz of the situation low if you just gently sweep them out of your current work area and then resume. Then it's no problem. But then I also have to keep an eye open for ticks. They got 'em gnarly up in their crotches where I've had some successes so far. Makes ya feel bad for em sometimes seeing just how much it is. Gives ya the heebie-jeebies when ya grab a leg to open 'em open to begin and you're seeing that whole area crawl with ticks. Eeesh.
