I just got a Stockys Hunter for a Savage and the rear trigger guard screw hole is smooth bored through so no threads for the factory screw to grab. Anyone have experience here? Do I just need to bed the hole with epoxy and coat the crap out of the screw with a release agent?

There’s a small oval plate that sits on the inside to screw into. Problem I’m having bedding one is w/ a timney trigger the trigger hits the bottom metal and it’s inoperable.

The other two guys got it. There should be a plate and machine screw to replace the wood screw that is normally used.

@msalm, I had a different, but similar, issue with mine. Mine is a bottom bolt release and when I would remove and reinstall the bolt, it would catch just enough that the "safety" on the Accutrigger would lock up. A quick push forward on the trigger (like setting a set trigger) would fix it, but it is happening enough that I won't take that gun into the field. Had a few other projects move in front of fixing that, but I believe a few minutes with some sandpaper in the right spot will fix it. If not, then the factory trigger is coming off and getting replaced (which I should probably do anyway).

Question for those of you who have have them. I noticed on the Stockys website that the Savage offerings are designed for the bottom bolt release rifles. Do they offer one for the side bolt release? Or will they interchange?

I had to do a lot of clearance work to get my older 110 to fit. The bolt release lever, sear and trigger group areas all needed attention. I also modified mine for the old detachable magazine system with the button on the side of the stock.

For a short action, they only offer the newer action spacing so be cautious there as well.
