I just had my swaro SLC Binos sent into swaro to look at the stiff and loud focus wheel.

The performed a alignment and checked over everything. They stated everything is normal.

For this price of Binos I was expecting a smooth and not a wheel that is loud and almost a grinding noise.

Anyone else find this?

The focus knob on my two ELs are just about perfect-smooth, easy to move without too much effort and very little noise. The grinding sound you describe definitely sounds off?

I thought it’s off but sent them in and everything was fine they said

NL pure knob is silky smooth. Previous 15x56 SLC was stiff. Current el range 8x32 is too stiff for my liking but overall I’m used to it now.

I think it depends on the model which is annoying.

Unfortunately this issue is not just model dependent. The design of Swaro's internal focus makes for a high variability in feel between samples of the same model. I've felt NL Pures and EL's that were stiff, gritty or had lash. A few years ago I had to purchase and return 2 samples before the 3rd had a smooth focus wheel.
