If you really wanna stick it to 'em, buy some China knockoff vinyl and do it anyway. Don't ask don't tell. The license agreement would need to be between the vinyl manufacturer and Kuiu, and the vinyl manufacturer is who they would go after if they decided to pursue legal action. You're just a dude who paid to have your boat wrapped in Kuiu camo, so if you can live with that you're in the clear.

Guy Fieri's trailer looks pretty cool.
Guy ownes part of a large investment company,

Pretty sure Guy or JJ can send a text to Kuiu and get a licensing agreement for a vinyl wrap company.

OP you just have to find a vinyl/wrap company that has purchased an actual license to use their camo, a better email would be asking for a list of approved wrap licensees

There is a reason they are called "SueYou" by people...

Jay
Their camo is proprietary property and one of the first to break away from the Realtree/mossoak licensing monopoly.. that’s a lot of risk.

With that said go print Optifade with out GL Wore’s permission…….

They could, and likely would send a cease & desist.

Ignoring that would be grounds for legal action.

I can see why they would want an agreement from actual companies and manufactures to use their patterns, but a one off guy painting his boat that pattern. Why not? Seems like it would be free advertising.

And does OP (or anyone) care that a foreign vinyl supplier gets sent a c&d for trademark violation? OP's boat is wrapped and the turd in Kuiu's punch bowl gets removed. Win/win.

Did you ask them to sponsor you? You should, they might even pay for the wrap. Shoot, screw that, I'm gonna ask them now, my Skeeter could use a nice Verde wrap:ROFLMAO:

Another issue would be someone doing something illegal and their name is exposed to negative responses and shaming. It’s kind of a niche scenario though as most companies are paying pro athletes, celebrities, tv shows to stick their name all over the place.

Maybe I'm wrong, but unless you're in the business of selling products wrapped with a camo pattern, I don't see how a company could legally stop an individual from doing this. If you were making money, that's different. But wrapping a boat for personal use would be much the same as tattooing camo sleeves on your arms.

Copyright violation doesn't require profit.

I'm taking about OP getting one...

Once his boat is wrapped he has already ceased and desisted, right? It's not like he's talking about starting a business doing this for anyone who wants one. That also goes back to my don't ask don't tell comment. If he doesn't blast it around the internet and doxx himself there's a good chance word never makes it back to them that a dude in Utah has a Kuiu boat.
