Anyone do any rucking with a Kifaru internal frame?

I am looking to get my first kifaru and I am hoping to use one bag for multiple purposes. I want to get a 357 mag for saddle hunting, ruck training and 1-4day camping trips. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to go on any hunting trips for a while that require me to pack out a tone of meat that would require an external frame/ load shelf.

Not married to the idea of a kifaru bag and any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I like the 357 layout a bunch for day hunts and overnighter. Depending on the size of your gear size may be a restriction for multiple days. Going from memory the main bag is mid 2000s with each side pocket 500ish. I did a review a while back I'll see if I can find it

I would love to see the review. Yea I’m aware I won’t be any multiple day back country hunts. My job doesn’t allow me to take the time off during hunting season. But I want to make sure I’m ready for whatever when the opportunity arrives.

I've had 1/2 a spike elk in the 357 for a trip back to the truck. Not ideal as had to leave the bag zipper open and just use the straps but I never felt like it the pack itself would break

I ruck several times a week and rotate thru my Tarryall, 357 Mag, and my Lite frame with a cargo panel. Anywhere from 20#-60# plus depending on the workout I'm doing. Zero regrets with any of my Kifaru stuff

I had the Kutthroat for a while and up to 45lbs, it was a fantastic internal frame pack. Put several miles on it.

I recently got a minikeg for day/limited hunts, and have done a few short walks with about 50 pounds in it-feels great for me. I have a similar use case to you (not doing extended backcountry stuff but want to ruck/carry decent weight). Very impressed with the internal frame from kifaru. It carries this weight more comfortably for me than mystery ranch or eberlestock, and is comparable (again at the 50 pound mark) to my stone glacier x curve.

Not kifaru packs here but all I use are internal frame packs because needing a pack to haul meat out is probably not happening anytime soon for me. Been using internal frame packs for rucking for years at this point and have zero complaints. Find a good pack that fits you and start moving! I do find that weighted items that are soft (sand bags, shooting rear bags, etc) don’t tear the packs up as much as heavy/rigid items.

Good to know. I’m gunna wait to see if I can get any additional percentage off and then pull the trigger.

I'm lucky enough to get a new pack twice a year courtesy of work. For a long time I was a dedicated Mystery Ranch follower, and then came Kifaru. I have had three of their packs and have no specific complaints. With that said, after I started using a Kuiu pack (Pro Series and Pro LT Series) I will never go back. They are outragiously comfortable and extremely versatile. If you are looking for options, I'd give them a hard look.

Gosh darn it now I discovered the kuiu encounter divide 2800 that looks really good
