Huntin Fool makes their money by telling you the odds on state draw tags, HOWEVER, they can't seem to publish the odds of their own raffles! Am I the only one that finds this absurd? Why can't they publish the odds of their own raffles? Unbelievable! Should be illegal when you think about it!

I agree, for the most part. I made comments to that effect on their website and got flamed publicly, but got lots of support via PMs from guys who apparently didn't have the balls to say so in the open. You are not alone in your feelings.

I'm happy that I asked the question because I am on the fence if I should join HF or Eastmans or both or neither. Lots of great info on RS and very helpful members. At 38 I am trying to build points everywhere I can out west but am afraid that I will never have enough to get into big trophy units. I'm sure that I will enjoy reading the magazines and reports and odds.

I drew Oryx and Ibex my first year applying for them, Ut mt goat in 4 years.....never know when you might get lucky and pull a tag. Well in some states with there system you have a good idea how long or if ever and with the NM changes good luck on those species

That's what this site's for,.......... there ya go, I just saved you $100!

Ha! That might work some of the time, but I've drawn tags before that have very small allotments, so finding someone on the internet with genuine good info can still be tough. Not many guys have drawn sheep tags, or some premier deer and elk units.

Between me and my brother, we have drawn CA desert sheep, arguably the best mule deer unit in the world, some other very good mule deer units, UT LE elk, NM Gila elk, NM Oryx, etc. Neither of us are out of our 30's yet. A few of those tags were drawn with few or no points. You just have to play the game.

Ya Aron it can get expensive, I often play games with zero interest credit cards. Still a handful of states there is no way I have enough to play the gaff in. Nm is a state that really must have done extra cash or a zero cc, since there are no points I often skip there. Just got lucky on ibex and Oryx the one time I sent in

I bought a huntin' fool membership this past October and feel it's been a great resource even if I don't have enough points anywhere for anything yet! Can't comment on Eastmans.

Been said above but....

Huntin Fool advantages:
Contact previous years draw members (you can talk to as many as you want)
Discounted/cancellations hunt sections (if you go guided/semi - if you are into that)
Being able to talk to someone at huntinfool as many times as you want. Those guys hunt too. often go unguided and will also help you

In terms of odds and research section - i see them the same and find sites like MM have the data for free.... When I have compared the units from previous years, the comments are often very similar or the same.
