Anybody done this successfully? I’ve got a sendero profile carbon barrel I’d like to make fit in factory stock temporarily as I wait for another stock. Just not sure if it’s too much hogging and will compromise the stock.

I've went to ridiculous lengths on an old R700 BDL walnut stock. Easily floated a Bartlein 3B when I was done.

I don't think you'd hurt a Tikka stock. If you got carried away and the forend felt weak you could shorten it an inch or two and reattach a sling swivel further back, in epoxy. Or perhaps epoxy an aluminum arrow shaft into the bottom of the channel to stiffen it.

I had to hog out a Boyd's laminated stock a lot for a muzzleloader once and when I was finished I epoxied an arrow shaft into the ramrod channel. That was more for making a way to hold a ramrod, but the concept seems to work.

I did it a few months ago. I used a Dremel tool and sockets/sandpaper. Not the most beautiful work I’ve ever done, but the rifle shoots well and barrel is not making contact.

He said factory stock. Thats $50-$75ish

Are those stockys blems worth a shit? What do they improve on?
Depends on what you want I guess. I wouldn’t replace a factory sporter stock with a sporter Stocky’s, but you get a significant improvement with their vertical grip stock. Tikka stocks are great though if you’re sticking with a sporter. blems are a hell if a deal though.
