Probably not bumping enough. I had the same issue. Screw your die in some more.

Do you have a comparator to measure your shoulder? I had this happen to me too and I wasn’t bumping my shoulder far enough.

Yes I have a comparator. I’ll check the unsized brass. Here is a photo of the sized brass. I’m pretty sure I had the die completely screwed down.

Is that a measurement of the overall brass length? I’m a rookie myself, but don’t think you want to use a OAL measurement to verify.

That’s the .420 datum measurement.

Finally getting started with my 18.5" 7.5 twist ks arms barrel. Lapua brass, 215m, H1000 and the new 116TMK. Had a pretty stiff bolt lift on the initial pressure string at 57 gr. Went back to 55.5 and was 2950 for velocity average. Will try some larger sample size accuracy testing around there. Seems like I'm hitting pressure a little earlier than some but I don't really need more velocity than that anyway and I'll likley pick up some speed as the barrel breaks in.

Mine is similar, works great at 55.0 grains of H1000 with a 115, pressure at 56.

Can anyone let me know what’s going on here? This brass will chamber but I have to force the bolt closed. This is necked down Lapua brass using a Hornady die and .271 sac bushing with the die screwed all of the way down.

Looks to me like your bushing is not sizing far enough down the neck to get along with your reamer dimension.

21st century makes a neck sizing die and inserts for this.
