Anybody chase the mule deer in Nebraska?

I know public land during the rifle season is crazy pressure but is early archery a lot better? I’ve heard differing opinions on that

I have a buddy that hunts the sandhills. Lots of hunting pressure, decent numbers of deer, and lots of weather variation

I am heading to Nebraska for archery myself this year for the first time since my buddy didn't get a Wyoming tag. The biologists were very helpful once I tracked the right ones down.

They have office numbers listed on their hunt planners. Call the office closest to where You are hunting and ask to talk to a biologist

The simple answer is there are deer to be killed but it is a very tough hunt for most and there are much better states for someone looking to do a NR public land hunt. IMO you are better off drawing a tag in a more desirable state with better amount of public land access than to mess with NE. With that said many people get it done in NE but those that do are few and far between over those that go home empty handed

My hunting partner and I both got covid last year and had to cancel our hunt just a couple days before we were set to leave.
