I was helping at an e-waste even yesterday and came across an old Marantz 2265B. It was sealed up in the original box with the manual and appears to be in great shape. It powers up but I don’t have any speakers to hook up to it. I was thinking about taking it to a repair shop to have it looked over and then listing it for sale. Sounds like they’re pretty sought after. Any advice from the audio gurus on here? Thanks!

There’s definitely a community of enthusiasts that like the older stuff more than the newer ones. If you can find someone reputable, I’d have them clean everything and check the caps in it to make sure you don’t damage something more expensive if you power it up. You can clean the pots yourself, but if you’re not able to check the caps or upgrade them yourself, might as well let them do that as well. That’s an awesome find and looks great.

That was one of the listings that caught my eye! I have somewhat of an electronics background so I’ve thought about taking it apart to give it a cleaning but I think I’ll take it to someone that knows what they’re doing to give it clean bill of health
It's definitely worth it.

What part of Montana?
I've been corresponding with a guy that does vintage electronic repair in Hamilton.
I might keep the box sealed if it's not too late...Might add another G!

I do have a soft spot for vintage electronics from the seventies and eighties.
An unrequited lust for the stuff I couldn't afford?

Currently rocking a pair of 1980s Boston Acoustics T1000 towers in mint vintage condition. I always loved the Boston sound.

I’m in central MT. I opened it up and it’s definitely dusty so it’s been used. It’s in great shape though

I bought one while in Germany.
Those things were great.
Now I wish I still had that whole system for that time frame.
Dont tell me what it sells for I my cry.

As far as speakers, just ride around town and look for a white van and 2 guys selling speakers. The speakers are liquid cooled as well. Don't ask how I know.
