Sullivan county. Been on here a couple years. Great forum. How’d you all do on whitetails here and any of you go out west? I killed a decent buck nov 5th, my 7 year old killed his first deer, I spent 7 nights in Colorado elk hunting. Same spot I went last year so I’m learning it more and more. On bulls every day and almost killed this solid 5x5 a couple times. He wasn’t the biggest I saw. Pretty happy with the area I’ve found in an otc unit I can keep hunting.
Sounds like you had a very good season in Indiana and a good quality hunt in Colorado. Congrats on your sons trophy! He’s hooked for life and that’s what it’s about!
My IN deer season was successful. I didn’t harvest the deer I was after but I got to sit in the stand several times so that’s all that truly matters. Killing is just the bonus!
We went outwest to WY for a successful DIY OTC mule deer/antelope/prairie dog hunt. Three quality mule deer, one good speed goat and many prairie dogs were harvested!
I live in the Cincinnati area, but hunt across the river in Kentucky. Harvested a few does and a buck this year.
No westward trip this year. Planning to burn 4 mule deer points in Colorado next year and then bounce over to South Dakota for a whitetail hunt in the South Dakota Black Hills. Both will be November hunts. Excited to winter hunt/camp.
CiK01 I’m about three hours south of Indy. I’m trying to decide if I am going to drive up for the BHA meeting. Probably not but would attend meetings if they were closer.
