Like the title says....any hunting platform owners wished they had switched to a tactical frame??? I have an order in for a hunting duplex with aluminum stays, but was wondering if an 1/8" frame sheet would be make a more durable frame. Never owned a kifaru frame so I'm a complete newb.

Absolutely love my hunting duplex. I don't regret it at all. I've only loaded mine to 80 lbs. But worked flawlessly.

I have the UL, same as hunting just diff stays. Not a single regret here, I think the tac is overkill but jmo.

Having been running Kifaru for awhile and getting the new duplex hunting frame with composite and arrow stays in time for all my hunts this season, I kinda wish I went with the tacticle version looking back. To much flex IN The new duplex frame with arrow stays for my taste, especially with loads in excess of 100 lbs. A stiffer board might have made the arrow stays more to my liking.

With the composite stays my new frame is golden!

I went with the tactical duplex because I liked the thickness of the sheet in the previous versions of the duplex that I had. I'm glad I did, but i prefer a little more rigidity, some might not. I have both arrow stays and the composite. I have been using both to see which I like better and honestly I can't really decide. Both are comfortable. When using the arrow stays the frame still flexes a little when its not on your back even though its a thicker frame sheet.

I have the Hunting frame with the composite stays and could not be happier. I had arrow stays in my old Duplex last year for a few months but prefer the composite. Well worth the extra weight in my opinion.
Either way you will be pleased!

I'm running the UL frame and love the new thinner frame sheet. I don't feel I give up anything having the 1/16 frame sheet.

Only regret is spending the 10 bucks for the arrow kit because the fit with the composite stays is perfect haha....and not picking up a few accessory straps.

I never did try just a single arrow in each stay pocket, did you ever try 2 arrows in each stay pocket? I didn't notice much flex in the UL after it was all loaded up and on my back.

I have the thicker sheet. I have tried it with arrows and do like it when in daypack mode but when I strap a hvy load on I much prefer the aluminum stays. It seems to fit tighter to my body and is a lot more stable as far as any sway goes.
I personally carry my load in with the aluminum stays and when set up switch to the arrows and then if need to haul anything hvy I just switch back to the the aluminum stays..

I have a regular hunting duplex. Not the new model. I have had 100+ lbs in it training. It is a solid performer with a heavy load. I do wish it was less rigid when not carrying much weight, such as when I use it as a daypack. But I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. Maybe the thinner sheet is a good compromise of comfortable under heavy and light.

Im learning to really appreciate this frame. I would like to try composite stays under heavy loads, but daypack mode this thing rocks. Also debating if i needed the 26" when I'm 5'10. I do a lot of brush busting and the top of the frame always catches trees and brush. If I'm not carrying 100lb loads do you think a 24" would be ok? I'm still learning these frames. Thanks

I don't have a new frame but I always let my pack sag when nothing is in it, drops the frame below my head.

No, I just used a single arrow in each sleeve. Maybe 2 arrows would be better but the composite stays fit sooooooo good I don't see myself going back.

Definitely go 26". More positive than negative. Some day when you may have a huge load you might be looking for that extra lift.
