Any Experience with Custom Order Ford Super Duty?

Question: whats your reason for going 3/4 ton instead of 1 ton?

Smoother ride while empty

$2k savings (+ another $1500 since I would have also done 5th wheel prep)

No intention of towing more than #10k

And the payload still came out pretty good

What did your max payload come out to be as equipped?
Just saw the picture, great looking truck! I dont think I can go back to shorter bed after owning my first long bed for the past year.

2,664 lb. With 800 on the tongue, another 800 with the wheeler in the bed, that leaves a little over #1k for cargo and passengers, and this is just to stay within the rating. The camper package added a helper spring and overload spring. Even though it didn't increase the payload rating, it will have an effect when overloaded due to the helper springs and the additional spring stops for them.

Congrats on your new truck! The order process is easy like you found and can get what you want, nothing more or less. I ordered my 2022 7.3 summer of 21 and just picked up a new 25 350 6.7 HO on May 31st. I wouldn't have ordered the HO but it had everything else I wanted and they accepted my low ball offer. Sold the 7.3 for what I paid for it 5yrs ago so can't complain.

Your 11mpg towing 7k travel trailer is in the ballpark unless you were driving 55 then I'd say it's a little low. I keep my finger on the truck market pulse and the 25-27 Ford 7.3's and 6.7's will be some of the best trucks looking back 10+ yrs from now. Both engines and the 10r140 trans are dialed in at this point before the possible new diesel in 28.
