I've gone through a couple of Baratza grinders and finally moved on. I've had exceptional service from a Capresso Infinity with the metal body. Simple to clean and produces a consistent grind.

I have the Capresso with metal body - it works well, but it is LOUD. I use it when I have company, and pull out the Technivorm Moccamaster for volume coffee making

Otherwise, I use a handgrinder for my Espro French Press.

Rodaks coffee is the coffee I've drank for at least 6 or 7 years and havent found anything better. He roasts your coffee when you order it and ships it out. Nice guy too. Home roasting is a great way to go too. Nothing better than fresh roasted coffee

Rodak's is interesting. Car repair to Cadillac restoration to Coffee Roasting and BBQ supply. The guy/gal is a business ninja.

Avoid all the Breville Machines unless you get one of the Bambinos or Dual Boilers. Any of the models with the built in grinders are junk

BS - the grinder in the Breville Barista Express is superb.

Set the grinder on a folded hand towel. Makes a huge difference.
My wife used to say our Capresso doubled as an annoying alarm clock before I learned the towel trick..

I have been considering getting this grinder. From what I can find, it's about the best bang for your buck for $200 or less. This company imports them and reportedly has good CS and support for their Turin grinders.

BS - the grinder in the Breville Barista Express is superb.

Possibly if you're using stale coffee that you buy from Costco. But I've never had an acceptable shot of espresso pulled from a Breville machine that was ground by the built in grinder.

@renagde , this Bambino is crazy a machine for $300. I just found out today you can manually operate the pre infusion and pressure time/volume using the buttons..... Friggin crazy. I'm getting better shots with this machine and my manual Knock grinder than I ever did with the Cremina and HG-1

Glad you’re enjoying it. In my opinion, you really can’t do better than that machine until you spend $1000+, it really punches above its price tag.

Whoever provided the shot didn't know what they were doing (you obviously never owned the machine with built in grinder). Feel free to continue in your delusion however.

Actually have. And have lots of friends that use them. You can’t even compare that machine to a stand alone grinder. It’s apples and oranges. Have you ever owned a HX machine or a dual boiler machine with a stand alone grinder, lets say any of the flat burr single dose grinders?

Bought a Saeco Classico about 15 years ago. Used it sparingly until about a year ago. Never use French press anymore. Just espresso here.

Baratza encore grinder with micro step adjustment.

Built a roaster out of a flour softer, drill and heat gun.

The NCT espresso blend is hard to beat. I roast one pound of coffee per week it seems.

I use the new Gaggia Classic E24.
My wife and I are decaf only, but the aroma dn flavor of espresso.
